NAILSOFTHEDAY Holographic Cat Eye Top – a professional holographic magnetic top coat designed to give a finished manicure a dynamic “cat eye” effect. The fine light-reflecting particles in the formula react to a magnet, so before curing you can create a directional streak of light, a depth effect or any other magnetic pattern you like. It is a 10 ml top coat with no sticky layer.

The product's holographic shimmer reflects light brilliantly and gives the surface a fine, intense sparkle. The manufacturer also states that the top coat can be used with or without a magnet – without a magnet you get an even holographic sparkle, while using a magnet lets you bring out a directional Cat Eye effect.

What look does Holographic Cat Eye Top create?

The final result depends heavily on the base color and the position of the magnet. Since this is an effect top coat, the color underneath remains an important part of the overall design.

Over a dark base, the holographic Cat Eye effect becomes bolder and more contrasting – the band of light created with the magnet looks deeper and more concentrated. Over lighter or nude shades, the effect becomes softer, but the holographic particles still catch and reflect the light.

If no magnet is used, the particles are distributed more evenly and the top coat gives an overall holographic sparkle. With a magnet, you can create a classic band of light, a diagonal effect, a concentrated glow or another magnetic pattern.

How to create the Cat Eye effect?

The magnetic effect is created before curing, while the top coat is still liquid. In its Cat Eye magnet instructions, NAILSOFTHEDAY recommends holding the magnet approximately 3–5 mm from the nail surface for up to 10 seconds and shaping each nail separately. The position of the magnet can be changed and rotated – this also changes the direction of the light-reflecting particles.

It is important to create the desired effect immediately after applying the product. Once you are happy with the result, cure the nail right away so the particles stay in the position you created.

When to choose Holographic Cat Eye Top?

NAILSOFTHEDAY Holographic Cat Eye Top is especially suitable when you want to change the character of an already chosen color without covering it with another pigmented layer of gel polish.

It can be used for:

transforming a single-color manicure;
creating a Cat Eye streak of light;
a holographic sparkle without a magnet;
adding depth to dark colors;
adding a subtle magnetic effect to nude and milky coatings;
individual accent nails;
a magnetic finish on all nails;
layering over different colors to get a different result every time.

1. Finish applying your chosen gel polish, color base or building material and fully cure the previous layer.
2. Spread NAILSOFTHEDAY Holographic Cat Eye Top evenly over the entire nail surface.
3. Level the top coat carefully – this is the application method specified by the manufacturer.
4. If you only want an even holographic effect, no magnet is needed.
5. For a Cat Eye effect, before curing hold the magnet approximately 3–5 mm from the nail and create the desired light effect by changing its direction. The manufacturer's magnet instructions recommend holding the magnet for up to 10 seconds.
6. Once you have created the desired effect, cure the nail immediately.
7. Curing: UV lamp – 120 seconds; LED lamp – 60 seconds.
8. There is no sticky layer to remove after full curing – the product is No Wipe.

NAILSOFTHEDAY Holographic Cat Eye Top can also be used without a magnet, but in that case there will be no directional Cat Eye effect – only an even holographic sparkle. The magnet is needed specifically to set the direction of the particles and create the streak of light.
